Minutes of the short Shipton Bellinger Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 11th May 2015 in the Main Hall, Village Centre at 7.00pm.

WELCOME

DECLARATION OF OFFICE

Shipton Bellinger Parish Council had an uncontested election. 4 nominations papers were submitted. Mr D Davies, Mrs S Turner, Mr T Bowden and Mr S Bluff signed The Parish the declaration of office.

Mr P Stinton was co-opted back onto the Parish Council and signed the declaration of office. Mr M Bladen will be co-opted back onto the Parish Council at the next meeting.

DECLARATION OF INTERESTS

There were no declarations of interest recorded.

ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN

CHAIRMAN - Cllr Mrs S Turner proposed Cllr Mr D Davies as Chairman, this was seconded by Cllr Mr S Bluff. There were no other nominations and all agreed. Cllr Mr D Davies was elected Chairman.

VICE CHAIRMAN - Cllr Mr D Davies proposed Cllr Mr P Stinton as Vice Chairman, this was seconded by Cllr Mrs S Turner. There were no other nominations. All agreed. Cllr Mr s Bluff stated that he would be happy to step in as deputy Vice Chairman if the need arose.

PLANNING

15/00801/FULLN - Single storey rear extension to form orangey and new front porch - 22

Sarum Close, Shipton Bellinger.

The Parish Council had NO OBJECTIONS to this planning application.

15/00928/FULLN - Removal of rear conservatory and replacement with orangey to provide

kitchen, first floor extension to provide bedroom four - 21 Sarum Close,

Shipton Bellinger.

The Parish Council had NO OBJECTIONS to this planning application.

URGENT MATTERS

PLAY AREA - The Clerk reported that he had attended an interview under caution with the Health and Safety Executive. Richard Ottley, the appointed Aviva legal representative also attended. The interview was recorded and the Parish Clerk was given a copy. The Parish Council will now have to wait to see what action if any will be taken.

 

The Clerk reported that the Zip Wire chain has sheared off from the shackle at the top and the Zip Wire is again out of commission. Hags SMP Ltd have been contacted but have not yet made comment or been on site. The Parish Council will consider taking this matter to Trading Standards as the equipment supplied is not fit for purpose.

GROUND WORK QUOTES - The Clerk reported that the quotes from Nelly have been received :-

1. Levelling in the Play Area 220

2. Clearing Footpath 5 behind Hedges Close 440

The Parish Council agreed to proceed. The Clerk will contact Nelly.
