The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced the Parish Councillors.


The minutes of the 2009 AGM were signed as a true record.

The Parish Clerk produced a financial statement showing the results for the year ending 31st March 2010 and the budget for the year 1st April 2010 - 31st March 2011. Each item was explained. The Precept for 2010/2011 has been set at 20,000.


PC Bill Williams spoke about the Stockbridge Beat and policing in the village. Reported crimes in the village are down on last years figures by 20%

The Police are in partnership with the MOD Police and liaise on matters involving Shipton Bellinger. PC Williams reported that the 101 reporting telephone number now works in Shipton Bellinger.

PC Williams reported that the Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue to be based at Stockbridge, the RPU have moved back to Whitchurch and an additional PCSO is joining the Stockbridge Team. PC Williams answered questions from the floor on policing in the village. Points raised included :- Speeding in the village, vehicles without road tax and Youths causing nuisance in the area of the Beech Tree at the top of Parkhouse Road.

The Chairman thanked PC Williams for coming and giving his report. The Police were thanked for doing a good job.


Mr Carl Atkinson spoke at length about the setting up of Shipton Allotments Society (SAS). Since the last AGM the Allotments have become reality thanks to Mr Ian Curry who has made available part of his field running alongside Footpath 5.

The Chairman asked if there were any questions the public would like to ask the Parish Council. Question and points raised included :- Rubbish on the verges of the A303, questions on the Echo Echo Crossing and the speed limit on the A348 through the village.

The Parish Council answered these questions to the best of their knowledge.
